For the new Euro-styled AC Hotel by Marriott Phoenix Downtown, the hotel team went the extra mile. Not only did they put emergency safety and egress as a top priority, but also the team paid extra attention to ADA-compliance and accessibility considerations by having glow-in-the-dark, Braille floor identification signage installed, among other accessibility details.

Whether the guest is in the penthouse fitness center or a maintenance employee is in the underground basement, the egress system is designed to safely guide employees and guests to emergency exits. The details resulted in safer, more accessible exit paths for everyone.
On this project, Arizona-based Luminous Egress teamed with Layton Construction, Axis GFA Architecture & Design and Design Duncan Miller Ullman to plan and install the hotel’s egress system. The 199-room, 13-floor AC Hotel, which opened in March 2021, anchors the Arizona Center mixed-use site in central Phoenix.
