There’s a new silhouette along the Las Vegas skyline. In June 2021, Resorts World Las Vegas opened to great fanfare. Under development for 14 years and the first new hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in a decade, the lavish new resort boasts 3,500 guest rooms in a 59-story tower, a 177,000 square-foot casino, a 5,000-attendee concert theater, plus parking garages, nightclubs, entertainment, meeting, dining and retail spaces. Luminous Egress provided for the resort a vast photoluminescent egress system to comply with local fire code and to enhance the safety of guests and employees in an emergency.
The egress system called for the installation team from Performance Contracting Inc. to lay down miles of glow-in-the-dark wayfinding markings and signs throughout Resort World’s extensive network of stairwells, exit routes, and doors spanning the 88-acre site. The egress markings will serve to guide employees and guests to exits in emergencies.
With everything in place as per IFC standards, we intend to continue working with the engineering team to further equip the resort’s immense underbelly—its less-visible operational levels comprising HVAC, electrical, communications, water, sewer lines—with luminous markings designed to help Resorts World Las Vegas operations and maintenance crews quickly locate and control critical equipment in an emergency. Construction of the brand-new Resorts World Las Vegas gave the builders the opportunity to showcase the latest emergency safety technologies in its public just as much as its non-public spaces.
